Introducing Stash Cash Back

November 27, 2018

Stash Cash Back can help you save money when you spend.

2 min read

Want to get rewards for shopping at your local grocery store or for eating at your favorite fast food restaurant, even having your morning coffee?

Now you can. Stash is announcing a new rewards feature, called Stash Cash Back, which allows you to swipe your credit or debit card at 1,000s of participating local and national merchants throughout the U.S., and get cash back for your purchases. This feature will be available to all users in December 2018.

How Stash Cash Back works

Through the Stash app, you can quickly and easily enroll up to three Mastercard, Visa or American Express credit or debit cards.

The deals will change every day according to location and merchant, but they will include up to 10% cash back for purchases up to $250.

Some deals may only be for limited periods of time, for example during happy hours, or only on certain days of the week. (Note: if the deal is for a national chain with numerous locations, not all stores will have the same deal at the same time.) It’s best to check the app regularly for new and current offers.

Once you’ve made the purchase with your enrolled card, payments are scheduled for deposit to your personal investment account for the 20th of each month following your purchase. You can then use the extra money to invest.

With Stash Cash Back, you can watch as the dollars add up, which can give your savings a boost.

Who’s participating?

Some of the best-known merchants around will participate, including Harry & David’s gift baskets, Moosejaw outdoor apparel, and beauty retailer Cos Bar. Others include Sephora, Hallmark, Pets Supplies Plus, and Pei Wei*.

We’ll be updating and adding to the list continuously, so be sure to check back frequently in the app.

State of the art features

Whenever you open the app, our geolocation service will automatically tell you what merchants and special deals are nearby, plus how much cash back your card is eligible to earn. When available, you’ll get star ratings from Yelp, as well as product photos and merchant contact information.

Each time you make a purchase, Stash will send you a notification about how much cash back you’ve earned. Stash will also display how much you’ve earned on your purchases over time with a special Cash Back counter.

Stash is on a journey with you to help you learn about money as you save and invest. We want you to be smart with your money–whether that’s by turning on our Stash Coach feature, which can help guide your investing experience, or now with cash back offers that will help you earn money every time you spend with participating merchants.
