Introducing Stash Gifting: A Bright Future is the Best Present

December 14, 2018

1 min read

When it comes to investing, there’s no time like the present.

That’s why we’re introducing Stash Gifting. It’s an easy way to ask your friends and family for money that you can use to fund your Stash Invest account. And with the extra money, you can purchase the stocks, bonds and ETFs you want.

Whether it’s your birthday or the holidays, it’s a great way for your friends to help you build your financial future. You can’t do that with an ugly Christmas sweater.

Keep adding to your savings

The extra money can help you add more money to your savings so you can take advantage of compounding and dividends. You can get on track diversifying your portfolio, or adding to the investments you really believe in.

It’s easy to get started. Click on the gifting tab in your account tab from the app or on desktop.

Then simply share a link for a Stash Gift to friends and family by text, email, or on social media. (Stashers can send each other links too!)

They’ll receive a link taking them to your personal Stash Gifting page. This will prompt them to choose the gift amount:

They can also personalize the gift with their own message:

The person sending the gift will also be prompted to fill in their debit account information to transfer the gift money. (That goes for Stashers too!)

The person sending a gift will get a confirmation email as soon as the transaction is complete:

The money will go straight into your Stash Invest account.

Give your kids Stash, not stuff

If you have a Stash Custodial account for a minor, you can also request gifts to that account.

It’s a terrific way to help someone young get a headstart with extra savings once they become an adult.

Here are some important limits to keep in mind:

Give the gift of Stash

There’s no better gift than getting your financial future in order, and with Stash Gifting your friends and family can invest in you.

Ask loved ones to invest in you.
