New and Improved Auto-Stash: Round-Ups, Set Schedule and More

January 22, 2019

2 min read

Want more ways to save money?  The new and improved Auto-Stash is here.

We think it’s smart to try to automate as much of your savings and investing goals as possible. (Studies have shown the more you can automate, the more likely you are to meet your financial goals.)

So we’re introducing the new and improved Auto-Stash, with new features that give you more ways to stack up savings.

Auto-Stash is now three tools in one—Set Schedule, Round-Ups, and Smart-Stash.

Wait, what is Auto-Stash?

Auto-Stash is a Stash essential. You can program how much money you want to save toward your investments, including retirement. You choose how much you want to save and how often. The money moves seamlessly from your checking account to Stash so you can invest on a set schedule, no sweat required.

We think Auto-Stash is so important, that we made it part of The Stash Way.

Set Schedule

Set Schedule is classic Auto-Stash. It lets you transfer money into your Stash investing accounts automatically, on a (you guessed it) set schedule.

Select the amount you want to save, and save it regularly on a schedule that works for you.

With Set Schedule, you can set aside money into your cash balance, or into any of the investments you’ve added to your portfolio. It’s the easiest way to make regular investing into a habit.

You can also use Set Schedule to fund your retirement and custodial accounts.

Round-Ups

How often do you keep track of the spare change you get from your purchases? Enroll in Round-Ups, and every time you spend with the debit card associated with your linked checking account, Stash will round up your purchase to the nearest dollar.

For example, if you spend $10.50, we’ll automatically round up your purchase by $.50. Once your savings add up to $5 or more, we’ll transfer the spare change to your personal investment account cash balance. From there, you can invest it into any of Stash’s investment offerings.

Smart-Stash

Smart-Stash is designed to help you save your spare cash by analyzing your spending and earning patterns.

Smart-Stash studies your recurring transactions, such as rent or mortgage payments, as well as how often and how much you typically get paid, and then sets aside small amounts of money. It won’t ever initiate a transfer if your balance dips below $100, and it will skip transfers if you have no funds available.

You can set your maximum transfer to $5, $10, or $25, which we’ll move to your cash balance once you have accumulated enough funds. Smart-Stash will not transfer more than the maximum transfer amount.

Smart-Stash will not transfer more than the maximum transfer amount.

Please note: Not all banks may support Smart-Stash and Round-Ups at this time.

Auto-Stash on!

With all of these new and improved features, you can always hit pause, and then resume using them at any time.

Be sure to take advantage of all the great new features that Auto-Stash has to offer, so you can make saving and investing an automatic habit.
